As of January, 2016, the US had over 92 million television that had ESPN. There are currently 90 million subscribers for ESPN and these numbers are rising. Eighty percent of ESPN is owned by Walt Disney. The other twenty percent is owned by Hearst Communications.

This article talks about how Alabama has currently recorded the number six recruiting class in the nation. Although this would seem like a great recruiting class to most teams, for Alabama this is one of the worst recruiting classes in recent years. Also, coaching legend Nick Saban is now looking up at his former assistant coach Kirby Smart at the University of Georgia. These “struggles with recruiting this past year might be related to the recent coaching changes that have been happening with Alabama. This article was written by Alex Scarborough. The article seems to speak in a very positive manner of the University of Alabama. Like many Bama fans Alex Scarborough talks as if Alabama is deserving of the number one spot in recruiting and seems to have the understanding that Alabama can and should be number one in recruiting as long as Nick Saban is head coach. The author is very knowledgable and understands the topic well. There is not much Bias in this article other than a slight favoritism for the Alabama University.

Opinion

I believe that this is a very interesting topic. I have many friends who are Alabama fans and they seem to have the same mind set as the author. I think Alabama will have to compete even harder than before in order to Stay above all the other rising SEC schools. Alabama is used to be number one is football record and recruiting. I don’t think this will last much longer. However for now, I don’t think this number six recruiting class will hurt them much at all.
